As leaders we often expect people to see things our way. We may have the knowledge and experience to recommend a certain plan of action to achieve a certain result. We may feel that based on our prior experience, this specific way is the way it should be done. Experience counts, right? While most people would agree that experience does count, there are often multiple ways to achieve a desired result. A new perspective can be just what we need to see things in a new light.
“The most important trip you may take in life is meeting people half way.” Henry Boyle: Anglo-Irish politician.
Outstanding closing quote. It proposes a policy that works. Most of the time, with most people. With those that can’t, or won’t, be met halfway? Ride out, and leave them in the dust. Or, approach them from a different angle.
